Slam Dunk For Diabetes Featured Work
Since 2004, Slam Dunk for Diabetes camps have been a place where kids with Type 1 and Type 2 can play basketball, laugh and share stories. They can also learn about managing their health through food, insulin, exercise and best of all – hanging out with kids who are just like them. Kids ages 5 to 18 attend 100% free three to four-day, half-day camps across Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Each day, they’re encouraged to build their confidence, make new friends and learn some new skills on the court. That’s what a Slam Dunk camp is all about… and it’s 100% free.
Gameplan Creative founder and chief creative officer, Tom O’Grady, directed a group of creative professionals in an EPIC Creative Rally iamepic.com where the team developed a series of creative, marketing and digital media materials—on a strictly pro bono basis—for Slam Dunk for Diabetes. slamdunkkids.org Gameplan Creative Sr. Designer Brigitte Smith created a new website for Slam Dunk which has helped increase attendee participation, SD4D camp awareness and the UX has greatly simplified registration, approval forms, rules and guidelines.
“I just want to thank you and the EPIC Team for this amazing experience. We feel so fortunate to have been chosen to receive the time, energy and creative talent of so many people. Everything you have all done is perfect and beautiful. Please tell your TEAM that we are forever grateful for all the hard work. I know everyone works fulltime and I am sure spent long nights creating this masterpiece. We look forward to implementing these wonderful recommendations”.
Warm regards,
Monica Joyce, Executive Director, Slam Dunk for Diabetes.
