Slamball Featured Work

In July 2023, after a two-decade hiatus, SlamBall, the high-flying full-contact basketball/football/hockey hybrid sport, returned triumphantly to Las Vegas, sparking great excitement and anticipation for its future.

Played on a standard basketball court, SlamBall includes eight trampolines embedded in the two lane areas. The trampolines have two 10-foot-high baskets with heavily padded rims on each baseline. The rules allow for American-style football physicality, body checking along plexiglass boards with on-the-fly changes like in hockey, and a point scoring system similar to but diZerent from basketball. SlamBall slam dunks are wildly entertaining displays of athleticism as players leap high above the rim catapulting oZ the trampolines. At the same time, husky defenders try to block their dunks, creating adrenaline-fueled mid-air collisions to the fan's delight.

The SlamBall League logo captures the incredible jaw-dropping aerial action and excitement of the unique hybrid sport. It focuses on a dynamic player dunking pose encased within a pair of distinct metallic gold and black rhomboids. The SlamBall League font is a custom designed italic font with a matching angle to the rhomboid primary logo.

A creative challenge when designing the eight SlamBall team logos was all games are played at one venue (Las Vegas). There are no city team connections meaning there is no need for traditional “city/state" names in the identity. The logos focus on bold animated team wordmarks placed prominently on the front of player jerseys (similar to basketball jerseys), ensuring optimal brand awareness and easy player identifications. All SlamBall team logos feature strong bright saturated colors reflect the sports attitude and aggressive nature.

Each team's brand identity features:
• three colors providing a range of brand application extensions.
• a secondary logo will be on uniforms, broadcasts, and environmental graphics.
• bright, bold, and distinct colors allow fans connections.
